Why I stay home.......

So I run into Wal-Mart neighborhood market to grab some paper towels, vitamin E for the goat, and the oh so important coffee creamer. The cashier is telling the customer ahead of me how her daughter works at Whole Foods (Whole Foods is a very expensive health food store) Anyway she is telling the customer how her daughter got into an argument at WF with a customer who was wanting grass fed chicken. My cashier was like "how stupid chickens don't eat grass". So even though I'm ease dropping and not in the conversation I say "trust me they do" I get a look like who asked you and you don't know what your talking about. Then she tells the customer ahead of me. She should have asked for cage free chicken it's cows that are grass fed! Here I say again "chickens do eat grass". I don't think she cared to know the truth since she ignored me and then the customer ahead of me that mamma smarty pants was talking to looked at me and said "As much as they charge for the chicken, I hope they do eat grass" lol! What I got from that conversation is there is a young woman working at Whole Foods that is willing to argue with customers about something she has no clue about, I think she got her manners and brains from her mamma,  I'm glad I don't shop there and I should probably keep my mouth shut while ease dropping :)

  1. Can't fix stupid.
Although, in all honesty, just ten years ago I was at a zoo with our nephew and my Dad came along with. There was a petting zoo there with chickens. Dad pulled up a handful of grass nearby and tossed it into the chicken pen and the chickens went BONKERS over the grass....and my Dad said, "I didn't know chickens ate grass!!". Paul & I just looked at each other.
Oh, and Dad had more fun that day just fedding the chickens grass than our nephew did. :)

    1. How funny! I wouldn't have known except for the fact that I pen mine up now during gardening season. The pen is dirt and as far as their little chicken necks can reach outside of the fence is dirt. They love the green stuff :)

  2. See now I would have said "Not only do chickens eat grass but they have the sense to not talk to others while doing their job and holding up the entire F%$king cashier line while doing so".

But that's just me the Prince of Politeness and all.

  3. I don't try to correct people anymore, I have come to realize that the biggest obstacle facing our country are the vast numbers of stupid people.

  5. It boggles the mind how ignorant people can be when it comes to how animals are raise and become the food they eat. Then there's the way it's processed and changed by chemicals before it even gets to the public. There is a real reason for all the cancers and other horrible diseases that are rampant these days. Food, the way it is grown and prepared has a lot to do with it. But educating people . . . well, as Carolyn says, "You can't fix stupid." Especially when they have no desire to be fixed!

  6. I am not sure health food store really fits. It has a grocery store look, but I think it mostly makes its money off of high margin specialty items (prepared foods, chocolate, coffee, etc.). They have some awesome stuff, but boy do you pay for it.
