I know you don't want to buy them but if you ever get caught in a pinch Walmart has them where I live and they are cheap. I just bought a 5 gallon bucket and lid from Walmart to put homemade laundry detergent in and the lid alone was over a dollar. <br />We have a chest freezer that isn't being used. I put the chicken feed in old milk cans which hold one 50lb sack of feed perfectly and the lids turn the water if it blows in on them. Explain you're working on a project and need food grade buckets with lids. This is how I get mine. I usually go every time I have to go in town.
