Getting organized :/

I have had a hard time getting my s#^! together lately, so since the first of the month/year, I have made myself a short (very short) list of things that needed to be done that day. I'm the queen of I'll do it tomorrow and also a dreamer of all things I want to do. Things like laundry, dishes, caring for the animals, taking kids to school, cooking supper and taking a shower are not included in my list. They have to be done everyday. An example of an extra chore: The other day my only goal was to cut both my dogs hair and give them a bath. DONE! Today was strip my bed and put away my laundry. DONE! This sounds silly but I'm normally so overwhelmed with everything I have to do, need to do, and want to do that I would just sit down in the evening with a glass of wine and say I will do it tomorrow. Not anymore, I'm tackling small things everyday and hopefully by Spring I will have it a little more together, so my outside time won't affect my house :)
I've also added yoga to my daily life. So far my neck feels like its one wrong move away from being out of whack but really I feel soooo much better. I'd been feeling like I needed a chiropractor for awhile but not anymore. I'm stretching those muscles out and it feels really good, even though I am a bit sore ;) Now to just stick with it :)

  1. Way to go on the list! It is hard to keep focused when we are so crazy busy. What type of yoga are you doing? Do you go to a class, or watch a video? I've tried my hand at the Exhale Core Fusion yoga dvd's for the last 6 months, and it has been amazing! Hope you enjoy it as much as I have!

    1. Ki yoga. I found it on my Roku. She is from Australia and I love her class well minus the neck problems, lol!!! I do it at home in the evenings with my oldest daughter :)

  2. Yoga? Come up here and help me throw square bales of hay and you won't need no damned Yoga.

Sections of wood for splitting can be substituted in for hay as the season dictates :)

  3. Make a list of a few things that you want to get done each day, things that are possible to get done. Long term big stuff can be on a different list. I am thinking of making a water carrier out of some old wheelbarrow parts, it gets real old carrying those buckets out to the stable. Now I have something to put on my list.

  4. Dagnabbit! Is IS hard to fit everything into a day's (week's? month's?) time, isn't it? The problem is you can get into a routine of push-don't-stop but that's not good either (wine in hand or not) because IT WILL ALL NEVER GET DONE! I find making/taking the time for myself (yoga, a massage, even a few hours on the couch reading) the hardest thing of all. I'll take the time to do a task I feel must be done, but for some reason taking better care of myself is never a "must." (And, boy howdy, do I look it!)

  5. I hear ya. Days can be so overwhelming sometimes. I used to keep a long list, but I like your idea. Just tackle one (not an every day chore) for a day. I like it.

  6. Oh gosh....I really need to strip my sheets. Can't I just pour another glass of wine and put it off another week? Pretty please? You're making me feel all accountable now.
