Babies and 100th Post Giveaway!!!

The prize!
My youngest daughter is finally on the mend. We had to go back to the doctor Tuesday because she had a fever that wouldn't go away. They did another chest xray and her pneumonia was clearing up, but the fever was a problem. They gave her another antibiotic to take and it has helped her finally!!! She didn't eat for days and still doesn't eat alot and taking two antibiotics she has a messed up stomach. Attempted school today and ended up back home two hours later. I'm confident she is getting better, now I just need to get her tummy up to snuff.

My puppies to go bag

Yesterday I made my puppy a travel bag out of  two placemats, a napkin, some lace, and an old canvas bag. Cost me maybe three bucks and eight hours off and on of putting it together. I love it! Almost as much as I love this puppy!!! I don't know how I could love something soo much in such a short time, but I adore this little girl. Her name is Angel ☺

♥her little eyes opened two days ago ♥
Now for the giveaway! I can't believe I have posted 100 times, WOW!!! So in celebration I am giving away two bars of my goats milk soap! Just leave a comment on this post and I will put your name in the hat! The winner will be picked November 25th I know that's a long time but with the holidays I wanted everyone to have a chance to enter ☺ Have a great weekend everyone and good luck!!!!

    1. I am always trying new recipes! I don't think I have found one to stick with yet, although this one was pretty easy and I like the soap! I don't know if my soap stays too wet or what but it doesn't last long in the shower so if you win, I wouldn't leave it in the shower LOL!
Mama dog and the other five pups are doing great, they really have to watch her to keep her from nursing them ALL the time! She loves eating the cottage cheese too ☺ I kept my puppy on the formula, I was unsure about the goats milk and I didn't want to take any chances, but she is doing really good too.

I love this puppy so much and my daughter is better she just has a bad cough and tummy issues we almost took her to the ER Sunday night! It is scary stuff! 1. PS..Forgot to add and you probably are already doing it but yogurt is great for getting the tummy back in order after antibiotics. Make sure it has live culture.

    2. Mamma Bear~It takes some motivation to make soap, the mess is what keeps me from doing it more often!
The puppy is a yorkie, we all love her soo much!
I tried yogurt mixed with cereal, she ate the cereal :/

  7. Glad your girl is getting better, my daughter had to go in for an ear infection and it cleared up quickly, it seems to take longer when they are young for some reason.

  8. Oh my goodness, you need to sell those bags. I don't have a puppy but it is cute and the bag is too! Do you sell your soap? Do you make different scents? I want to know all about it...what if you have allergies? Skin type?

    1. The bag doesn't work so well with a monkey puppy climbing out of it LOL!!! I don't sell my soap yet, I never find the time to make more than we need. I do try different recipes often, I haven't stuck with just one yet! If your allergic to milk then the soap would be a problem. The ingredients are just oils so I would think they are safe for most people ☺

  9. Hi again Kelly, You said your soap doesn't last long in the shower...sounds like you need to tweak your lye/oil ratio maybe...My soap last much, much longer than store bought soap...Mine is a hard soap it contains lye. water or goats milk and 4 types of fat...one being lard...mine lathers up just like the store bought stuff but a 4 ounce bar last twice as long...

    1. I finally tried my oatmeal lavendar goats milk soap and when I made it, it seemed a little heavy on the lye but it seems like a more solid bar than the other. We will have to exchange recipes someday ☺

  10. HI Kelly, congratulations on your 100th post - I have been reading for a while, but 1st time commenting - the soap giveaway was just too tempting! My fave part so far was your success with the incubator, and step by step pictures of the chicks hatching.

Hope your daugter feels better soon, I can highly recommend a probiotic capsule like Culturelle, to help get the good intestinal bacteria back in balance. I ended up in hospital, with c. diff, on IV fluids after problems with antibiotics. The probiotics really help - Dr's also recommended following a BRAT diet for a few days B = banana, R = cooked rice, A = applesauce T = toast (white bread only).

Looking forward to future updates - if poss more pics of the chicks now they're getting bigger. Hannah, NY

  11. I can see why you love that puppy .... she is so darn cute! Congrats on your 100th post! A bit of a milestone, yes? Would love to win the soap. I use to have a friend who gave me her "not perfect" bars from her goats' milk but I don't get that anymore and really miss it.

    1. Hi Karen, and thank you I love this little darling! It's too bad you can't get that soap anymore, the end pieces are the ones I use first. Have you tried to make soap yourself?

    2. Kelly, No, I have not ever tried to make soap. Seems like I have so many other projects going that I don't want to add another. Plus, we are in the throws of moving in a few short months so I definitely will not be starting something new. Actually, I need to get rid of some things. That will be the hard part!!! I do look forward to seeing that little puppy get bigger in future posts. Sometimes I think: Like kids, I hate to see them grow up.

  15. Hi, I just found your blog via your comment at Mystic Mud. What a bonus to see you have a giveaway, I've never tried goat milk soap before. Glad to hear your little girl is feeling better. A good idea for the little ones is to make yogurt into popsicles, usually goes down pretty good.
