Hatching Eggs??? + Update

I am wanting to hatch out some Marans and Americauna's. The only local person I found is back ordered for two months and her hens have quit laying!!!! Do any of you WONDERFUL blog friends have fertile Maran or Americauna eggs you'd be willing to sell to me? Is it even possible to safely ship eggs? I was just wondering :) UPDATE============================================================Thanks to Kristin I will be getting a dozen fertile Maran eggs next week ☺ I can't wait to have beautiful dark brown eggs and the yard is going to be really full of chickens now LOL!!!

    1. You can order eggs from hatchery's for your own hatching...I use McMurray exclusively for all the chicks I buy, they have always been very good and I have been pleased with my chicks...I am sure you would find their fertile eggs of a great quality... http://www.mcmurrayhatchery.com/chicken_eggs.html

    2. I forgot to add that I am not sure if you can order a specific breed, but you could call and ask them.

    3. Thanks for the info ☺ I looked and they have that breed. The price is a little high and one of the reviews said the eggs laid weren't dark brown so I think I will wait two months and get on the local ladies list! I need to get off my fanny and clean the house, this rain is making me laaazzzy!!!

    4. I had no idea what hatching eggs are priced at, I hatch mine the old fashioned way...under a hen...LOL...In all honesty the reader that commented about the color of eggs, not sure she was looking at a maran egg...I have ordered from them and my hens layed the chocolate brown egg and she was the only negative commenter...anyway,I was just trying to help ya out...good luck finding what your looking for!

  2. I raise black copper marans. I've bought hatching eggs before, but never tried to ship any. I'd be willing to give it a try. Let me send you some pictures of my hens, roosters, and eggs (when this severe weather passes of course). They're very good layers of chocolate eggs.

    2. Pretty girls! Your rooster is a handsome fellow too! I don't want you to go to too much trouble! I've thought about it all night and just packing them up securely would be a chore. It's up to you. I'm game if you are ☺ my email is daveandkelly1@gmail.com
