Any Guesses??????

This is what I stare at a gazillion times a day :/ Sounds fun huh!?! My neighbor thinks another 4 weeks. The hubs might be with her on that but I'm not sure since he aggravates the living daylights out of me by acting like her udder isn't growing or she's not even pregnant! I've had her "in labor" about a dozen times so my thoughts don't count. What do you guys think?

    1. I wish I knew when that was! I have been staring at this rear end for months!

  2. I've lost track . . . is this her first freshening? If so, she's certainly bagging up which would indicate she's getting close to kidding. But I also think she could just be a little on the pudgy side, and not pregnant at all. (Sorry, I know you didn't want to hear that.) At best she looks as though she just has one kid incubating. When was the last time you think she was in heat and with a buck?

    1. She is a first freshener. I can't remember if it was November or December when I noticed her in heat and she was with the buck the whole time :/ I won't be doing this next year! Her udder has grown ALOT in the last week. She started out with 1/2 inch teats and no udder at all, so this is something! Her ligaments are REALLY loose and barely there. The last two days she has had an attitude with me that she never had before, like she's mad at me, but it could be because I made a mosquito spray and she's really not liking me try to spray her LOL!
Do you think she's too fat? She yells at me if I'm not johnny on the spot with the feed and they have hay available all day.

    2. Oh gosh, no, I don't think she's too fat if she's pregnant and I'd say she IS because for a first time freshener, she's got a really nice looking bag goin' there. And, as you say, it's grown a lot in the last week so I'd say you've got probably one nice kid getting ready to appear. (But then again, they can fool you. Could be two little kids in there.) But I've seen non-pregnant does that look a lot bigger than she does. Maybe she's just intent on keeping her girlish (goatish?) figure through this pregnancy!

    3. I worry that I feed them too much, that's why I wanted to know if you thought she was fat. I'm new at all this, that's why I ask you guys soo many questions. I'm thinking it's only one baby too but you never know. Thanks for all your advise. I really do appreciate it ☺

  3. My BFF just texted me that she is starting a goat hoohoo support group. I'm joining.

If she's a first freshener, then she's definitely pregnant. She's got a nice looking udder. I've also noticed that a couple months after they were bred, my pregnant goats' lady parts started to look like a vertical slit. My doe who isn't pregnant still has a more rounded appearance. Your girl has the vertical slit thing going on.

I think these goats are just set on making us crazy!

  4. I would say she is close due to her udder size, however my doe's 'uddered up' 2 months before they kidded...each goat is different....it is time, when it's time...not what you wanted to hear is it...LOL...I agree that next year you need to make sure you document when she comes in season, when she is with your buck and when you pull her from the buck...that way you have a better idea and it is easier on you and your doe....Your goat is not fat at all, mine are bigger than than when they are not pregnant...lol...I also agree with Mama Pea that there is probably only one in there, but like she said, they can surprise ya...I hope it happens for ya soon!

    1. Thanks! I hope it happens soon too. I'm thinking it will be a few more weeks though. I can't seem to remember exactly when she was in heat. That is whats making me crazy. I'm writing everything down next year!

  5. The final sign that I look for just before I put them in the kidding pen is the "goo" and a puffy and even a bit of an opening in the, uhm, hoo-hoo.

    1. Wilma had goo so I know what it looks like. That and 100 online hours of staring at strange goats hoo hoo's! I keep checking her but she's getting sick of it. I got head butted two nights ago.
I think she was in heat sometime in December so that puts her kidding in May sometime :/ I don't know for sure though. I really need to chill out (impossible) and take a nap.

  6. You should have a separate blog linked here with daily hoo-hoo pictures, then we could all share in the anxiety!

    1. Thanks Kim, I'm going to go with the neighbor and say in about 4 weeks? Who knows! I still won't quit looking at her back side constantly but midnight checks will be out for awhile.

  8. My Lacy was not much bigger than your doe and she had twins. You really can't tell by their size. The udder should get so tight it looks shiny. I read sometimes it happens after the kidding but mine have done it before.
