I have nothing exciting to post besides my job sucks! I LOVE being able to stay home and garden, play with animals, sew, crochet, all that fun stuff BUT the house cleaning, laundry and dishes are for the birds! I literally spent FIVE hours cleaning my kitchen today! You would think in five hours the oven would be cleaned, the floors mopped, cabinets cleaned out, and all the crusty gunk from behind the appliances gone. Nope it took five hours just to get caught up on all the stuff I haven't done lately. I'm lucky to have the hubs. He's adjusted to our new way of life, which is pretty much a dirty house and he hasn't fired me, yet ;)
Well that's my boring post for the day. How many days are left? I will try to liven it up before I take my July hiatus from blogging so I can get my whole house clean :))))
Well you got all that extra time now since you don't have to go out and protect the hens from the overactive roosters it's best you fill it up with womens work :)
ReplyDeleteOh you knew I couldn't resist that didn't you?
I hope you were barefoot too :)

ReplyDeleteI hear you, but there is one thing worse than our job at home. When you must work fulltime and commute so far to work that you quite literally never get to all the things you do now. My house is still recovering from my fulltime work days. I am still finding jobs that haven't been done as regularly as I would have, had I been available to do them.
Not a boring post at all. All of us are challenged by keeping yp at home, if in fact, we really live and do things there.
I don't like that stuff either but at least you are the boss.
ReplyDeleteI agree. Over summer I make a deal with the girls. I do the garden(s), and they do the inside stuff. If they don't, they go out the next day with me. One daughter does do the mowing, but most do the inside work (other than my own laundry and bathroom). It still feels like it's a mess every day too.
ReplyDeleteI feel your pain. I am hopeless when it comes to organizing. Thank God for my 10 year old son who can put the kitchen in order in 10 minutes flat. I don't know how he does it!
ReplyDeleteThe folks who have read my blog for years know that every summer season I mitch and boan about really, really needing a cook and maid during these months when I'm outside. I do manage to keep the house kinda sorta neat (remember it's just the two of us), but not nearly as clean as I'd like. I think the thing that bothers me most is when I have all the luscious, nutritious, FRESH food coming in from the garden but don't have the time to properly plan and prepare the fantastic meals that would appear on our table if there was only someone to actually spend time and cook in the kitchen.
ReplyDeleteI like what Sunnybrook Farm said . . . at least you are your own boss! Hugs.
I use the excuse that it's impossible to be perfectly clean in the country. Or anywhere, for that matter. But the outside is constantly being brought inside by me, dogs, etc. - I keep it tidy and clean when I can. Other than that? I enjoy all the non-cleaning moments. I embrace the grunge.
ReplyDeleteAs a ex-kitchen manager, the key is "running cleanup". The first thing I do when I start cooking is to fill the sink with soapy dishwater. Keep a wet soapy bar towel handy for wiping up messes, but not for removing items from the oven :-)
ReplyDeleteKelly,
ReplyDeleteAt times I hate my job too!!! Especially cleaning the kitchen and the bathroom.
